Job Summary: As a Senior SCADA Engineer at GlobaLogix, you will lead the design, development, and administration of sophisticated SCADA systems for our clients across the energy and utilities sectors. This senior role not only requires advanced technical skills but also leadership acumen and sales engineering capabilities to foster client relationships and drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering and development of complex SCADA systems for new installations, system expansions, and integrations with third party systems.
- Act as a technical lead, guiding junior engineers and project teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Engage directly with clients to understand their operational needs, develop trusted relationships, and provide consultative support.
- Design custom solutions and develop detailed proposals that align with client requirements and business objectives.
- Oversee and provide technical and maintenance support, ensuring the highest level of system performance and reliability.
- Support rotational after-hours support schedules to guarantee continuous system operations.
- Proven experience in leading SCADA system projects, with a strong portfolio in Trihedral VTScada, Weatherford Cygnet, or Inductive Automation Ignition platforms.
- Expertise in object-oriented programming languages and familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT Sparkplug B.
- Demonstrated ability in sales engineering, including creating rapport with clients, consulting to define solutions, and proposal development.
- Strong background in working with relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL).
- Strong background administering applications hosted in a cloud environment (Azure preferred).
- Network engineering experience, including working with data centers, virtual private networks, Internet of Things, and wireless communications desirable.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SCADA system design and implementation, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as Ignition 8.1 and VTScada are highly desirable.
